Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood (RSHP)

As part of our Health and Wellbeing programme here at Clermiston, your child will be learning through a comprehensive set of resources called Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood (RSHP).

The lessons and accompanying materials are all age appropriate and are sensitive to the needs of all our learners.

Your child’s Term Planner will detail exactly which section of RSHP will be covered that term.

Why we learn about this in Primary School
 

Children are naturally curious and are already learning about these topics everyday

• Learning abut RSHP can help children prepare for things like body changes, developing healthy relationships and keeping themselves safe
• Children can easily access incrrect and sometimes harmful information online (e.g. YouTube, social media, gaming) and from their peers
• Teachers are equipped with up-to-date accurate information which can support children to ask questions and balance any incorrect information
